"Rhythm of Orange"

My eyes opened and all I could see was the color orange. Everywhere. Covering the walls, the bed frame, the framed painting on the wall from the 90s. I could see the outline of the palm trees casting their shadows in between the pulses of orange and red. The balcony door was cracked open from the previous night to bring in a breeze. I snuck outside and sat on the overhang in silence. Leaned my head against the wood beam holding up our balcony. After I took a few photos to try and capture the colors, I realized that this was one of those moments that the photos taken just would not do it justice...not even close. So I put the cameras away and pulled my knees into my chest and just sat. Watching the sun on its way to wake up the rest of the world.

The birds sang their songs to one another. The waves crashed with their constant rhythm. The wind played through the swaying palm branches.
